Day 169 – Ben at Death Road, La Paz

after a nip of 98% pure alcohol for courage Ben embarks on the infamous Death Road of Bolivia on a mountain bike. Descending from a starting altitude of 4650m with freezing cold altiplano snow caps the trip entails riding 5 hours down to warm tropical lush green landscape at 1200m. The road at times is extremely narrow with a drop off of 600m and has claimed 18 cyclists lives over the last 15 yeas not to mention hundreds of motorists & buses. Adrenalin plus day for one Nobby.
