Day 170 – Witches market, La Paz

Our last day in La Paz heading to Copacabana on Bolivia’s Lake Titicaca, but not before a visit to the witches market close by to our hostel. One ancient tradition is to bury a dried llama foetus on the lot of a new house or foundations of new businesses as a cha’lla offering to Pachamama. The belief is so strong that some construction workers won’t start work on a new site unless a cha’lla has been performed.
