After years of talking about it, we finally decided to take a year off and travel / work overseas.
For me, the plan began with a decision to leave a job that I’d had for 3 years, which was an extension of the business I’d co-owned for 7 years. 10 years of continuous 24×7 responsibility takes it’s toll, so we decided that it was a good time to take a break before embarking on the next something serious.
To provide some income for our travels, we have decided to rent the house out for a year, and were lucky to find a lovely couple to rent it from us. This means a massive packing job after living in this house for 13 years, but that in itself is a cathartic experience.
Along with my lovely co-writer, wife and fellow traveller, we’ll be documenting our trip here.
